Trying out a new Search Feature

Trying something new, two weeks ago we asked for your feedback about the site and search, yet again, came up as something everyone wants better access too. We've heard you and we're going to try to improve things. As a quick and dirty, we've added aq Google Search widget to all of our pages. Sometimes Google does a better job searching our own site than we do, but then that's why they're in the search business, right? Hopefully this should tied you all over until we can provide an integrated advanced search with the ability to sort by date, keywords, vids you've viewed, etc etc. More improvements to come!

G37 videos are rolling in

287rwhp ends up being just a rad more than 330hp assuming a 15% drivetrain loss. I had a 2003 G35 Coupe for a few months that I found rather uninspiring, but then again I'm a torque junkie. The new G37 looks great and has an extra 50hp over the 2003 I had which should really help.

Coolest Insurance commercial ever.

The Geico gecko has nothing on Bangkok Insurance. Love to see creative advertising like this.

Coultard being a `tard at Monaco 2007

Monaco, by far the most chi-chi race in the world, but without a doubt the one I want to see most. I'm a fan of the Red Bull team, especially my Boy Speed (congrats on 9th!!!), but man David just about pulled a Schumacher this year in second round Qualifying on Renault. Now he claims that is was an honest mistake and that his team was telling him Kovalainen wasn't on his hot lap, but still, this is down right wrong.

Put a Jacket on Puh-Lease!

Here's a SQUID for ya, hopefully won't take a spill to get him to put some proper gear on. Love how the shirt flies up his back at speed too.. Anyhow, so this vid is a Kawi 636 getting clobbered by a built 300ZX. Just to point out before all your Car v. Bikers start flaming each other, the Kawi rider isn't tucked behind the screen, and 70-140 is a pretty weak zone for a middle weight bike. Regardless good kill to the Nissan.

Bullrun Season Finale! What did you think?

It's all over! Final Episode was last night. You can still catch rebroadcasts of the Bullrun on Spike's website here. So, the big question, Reality TV and cars, do they mix? Great idea? Bad idea? For those of you that watched it start to finish, what did you think?

Congrats to the Winners! Spoiler after the jump.

VW: Drivers *not* Wanted

Another great vid by UnitedPictures. So the cool thing about this driverless Jetta is not that it can drive itself, it's that has learned how to autocross itself! According to the video, it's learned to run the course faster than the human counterparts.... now if only that level of AI can make it into the next version of XBox Forza 2!

Why did you ban me?

We've been doing some Spring cleaning and banning users left and right who repeatedly cause problems.

Here are some of the red flags for us that may cause us to ban a user and possibly delete all of their comments.

- Racial slurs. 1 strike and you're out. We won't issue warnings.
- You have a very low user rating like -10.
- Multiple users report your posts.
- You go around the language filters by replacing letters with numbers, characters, spaces, etc.
- When we go review a reported post we usually check out your existing comments.
- If there is a trend where we see rude comments than productive one we'll just delete them all.

The vast majority of our users post great comments and we appreciate it. Unfortunately there are always a few rotten eggs who try to spoil the fun.

We really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to report bad comments. Keep them coming!

Rally Racing history lesson, from Cannonball Run to Bullrun

So I've been watching the Bullrun on Spike, (Tonight is the last episode, I'm give'n props to Mike and Morgan of Team Trans Am!). It's been a pretty fun show to watch, but it is (maybe to a fault) commercialized for TV....and it has to be to cast a wide enough net to work on television. But this is the net, so we can get the real deal online.

Because of that, I'm really enjoying the series running on Fast Lane Daily right now where Michael Spinelli (editor of Jalopnik) is talking with Alex Roy (Team Polizei) about Rallies, their history and lifestyle. I think it involves something about a starting with a hand full of cash, lighting it on fire, and tossing your driving record into the mix while you're at it.

Transcontinental, Did the record just fall?

The Internet is abuzz, it's been spreading across the forums, blogs and even the Tonight Show, but rumor has it that Richard Rawlings and co-pilot Dennis Collins have just beaten the 28 year transcontinental record 1979 Cannonball Run time from New York City to Los Angeles of 32 hours and 51 minutes. Their time? A claimed 31 hours and 59 minutes.

Team Polizei captain (and underground Internet hero) Alex Roy is demanding to see proof. I'm with him, upload some video and let's see it!

Renault Clio, Faster,...er...as fast as a speeding bullet

Why do we watch the superbowl? The funny ads of course, what's better than a funny ad? A funny car ad of course! Here's a great one from the folks at Renault.

Gallardo racing the Nordschleife

A good buddy of mine is hitting the Nordschleife right now in his BMW 335i. I can't tell you how much I wish I was there with him hitting the ring. Seeing this video just makes it worse. ;-) Anyhow here is a great vid from the folks at Lambo-Racing.de showing what a Lamborgini Gallardo can do on the ring. Great Vid!

Zonda rocks the Nurburgring in 7:32!

To put it in perspective the new Z06 does it in 7:40. 8 seconds is a pretty big deal at this level, but then again the Zonda does cost like 10 times as much. I've got an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to see which of my organs are absolutely necessary and I'm reading Ebay's T&Cs to see how I can get the most for them.

Audio Porn! Carrera GT tuned by Gemballa

Arguably the most exotic sounding street sound made, is the V10 symphony of the Carrera GT. Sure I love the warm gurgle of an LX 5.0, but there is something about this Stuttgart stallion that tears down the walls between imports and domestics. If you don't love how this car sounds, then you either don't have ears or don't love cars. Now all prose aside, this sample of the breed is even more special than most... this car is the Gemballa Mirage. Uploaded by Slick!

A Miata's eye view of Infineon Raceway

Love these track videos! User 2a6945d2 (guess who still hasn't created a user name ;-) just uploaded a track video from Infineon Raceway. I love these track videos, they give a fantastic perspective of the track, and (more importantly) a realistic idea of what these courses look like at street-car speeed. Often times when you watch ALMS you loose perspective on how big these courses are, simply because the car the camera is bolted to is a track super-hero.

Thanks for the upload, great vid!

Watch our RS4, the 4-Door M3 returns!

25 New Hi-Res Spy photos on Left Lane
With the Face of the M3 Coupe and the trunk line of the Sedan, a lot of people are saying the new M3 4-door is the best looking BMW yet. Personally I love the DTM-looking fender flares and the more aggressive M3 Coupe nose. If it bears a less expensive price and more practicality then I'm sold. Awesome ride.

Junior Dragsters, if only all parents were this cool!

This is a great little flick uploaded by Grinner from Moddin' Art. Very well produced video that gives an insight into the family sport of Junior Dragsters. A great way for families to meet and hang out, and something fun for the kids. You know the next John Force has got to come from somewhere, got to start em young!
