Out of the mud and back on the Street

Looking at my posting history you all probably think I'm a big Mustang fan...Sure I like Mustangs but I own a Trans Am (And a Kraut car and a Crotch Rocket)...the problem is the Mustang guys keep uploading these great videos so I feel obligated to highlight them. This one is a real stand out, very solid editing and great shots. Thanks for uploading it!

More ATV Madness.... SwampFire?

While on the subject of ATV Mud-Offs, heres a rather cool video that someone brought to my attention. Looks like it was uploaded a couple of weeks ago so sorry if this is a repeat for some of you....I'm more of a road racer than an off-roader, but you have to admit this looks fun.

Tom is calling you guys out

You know I've seen StreetFire being used to call people out before....but this is the first time I've seen a CEO of a major manufacturer use our site to call out the other guys. This I want to see. Better yet I want to see the CEO's of these ATV companies being the riders too. that would answer two questions, who makes the best product and which CEO is the best rider. Now that would be kinda cool.

....Bad mofo Racing goes to the Rally

BadMoFoRacing.com have put together this great compilation piece showing highlights of KC Magazine's Buffalo Run 2006.

*sigh*, yet another cool car event that we have neither the time nor money to run in....though here's a little secret, Chris and I did apply to the Spike TV's bull run challenge (a reality TV show set in th midst of the Bullrun Rally),its looking liker we were not cool enough to cut it...oh well. It might actually be a compliment in disguise that we're not dysfunctional enough to be featured on a reality TV show.

New 3-Series folding Hard Top in action

The folks at Left Lane News just uploaded a video showing off the folding hardtop of the new 3-series. Really cool car, I drove a 335i with the "300 hp" turbo motor.... I put "300" in quotes because I honestly think it felt a little faster than my M3 so I'm thinking BMW under-rated this new motor a bit.

Now this is FAST!!!!

6 Second Street Legal Turbo Corvette
I've seen a lot of fast cars, but holy crap this one hits the wheelie bars HARD. The amazing thing is it's lurching around like a bucking bronco half way down the track into second and third....unreal....(props to Randy for finding this one)

Neat Video Compilation

I really enjoy video compilations like this, but about 3 minutes through I saw something a bit wierd... Two people on a Hyabusa, and they switch drivers on the bike while cruising down the highway. I've been riding bikes for a while but this is the first time I've seen this trick, anyone else see this one before?

This week's spy photo round up

Old School Badness

Caprice SS
1967 Chevy Nova
I really miss having a car like this sometimes. Big Car, Big Cubes, Big Carburetor.... This car just reeks cool. You almost expect Jake and Elwood Blues to be driving it.... Though they actually drove a 1974 Dodge Monaco. Anyhow cool car, check it out.

The second video, well there is nothing subtle about it at all now is there? just couldn't resist throwing in a real strip terror while on the subject of old school muscle.

New Audi TT 3.2

Watch Video 2007 Audi TT
First video upload of the new Audi TT! The old TT was a design benchmark, and I'm really looking forward to seeing one of these new ones on the road. It does look more agressive than the old design, but the question is, does th performace back up that new mean look..... anyhow here is a short video someone took of their test drive in a new Audi TT. Thanks for the upload!

Streetfire.net, Tell us how we're doing!

So we've tried out some new things in the past few months, the blog, going to car shows, making some of our own content... but the core of our system is the Videos, and the video system has been largely the same for over a year now. I think it's past time to run a poll to see how we're doing. I'm not really speaking toward content, I'm very pleased with how many great videos we're getting, I want to know what we can do for you to make our system better. Do you prefer to use someone else to host your videos? Why? What are they doing better? Do you like our video system over some other services? Why? What are we doing better? Let us know, so that we know what to focus on with our next round of system updates. Have an idea for a feature? Let us know. Feel like we need to fix something or clean something up? Let us know that too.

Corvette Z06 Sunroof Conversion

Had I been keeping up with the video forum I would have seen this a week ago, sorry about that. It's been reported on CorveteForum.com that the new Z06 Vette has difficulty keeping it's topped glued on, but hey, is that really so bad? I kind of like the targa look, and apparently so do these guys... Considering the Ferrari and Lamborginis blasting past them I can only assume they're in the Gumball race or similar. Funny Video..

Because a Water-Rocket powered Peugeot was just too damn sane. Hopefully someone who speaks French can tell us what the top speed was, I think they say something about it toward the end.

Need a soundtrack for your video? Support Creative Commons

We get a lot of great videos uploaded to StreetFire, and I can tell many of you spend weeks tweaking your videos to get them just right. But one of the more difficult things is finding that just right soundtrack, and lets be honest, a lot of artists are total dicks when it comes to letting you use their work for your video. However I just found a web site for musicians that are looking for people to download their works... for free. They want you to do mashups, samples and set their tracks to video, and a lot of this stuff is good too. So check it out, and support Creative Commons art!

Coolest Jet Car Ever powered by Water

Remember those old Water powered Space Rockets? Well Someone has decided to apply that same principle to a car, and I have to say it's probably the coolest drag strip run I've ever seen. At first glance this looks like a riced our Peugeot 206 CC, then POOF! BANG! and the Camera lense is full of water, LOVE IT!

[Watch Video: Water powered Jet Car]

WRX vs. EVO let the fight begin.

I just posted about a cool EVO IX MR video, so naturally I get a few dozen emails from the WRX crowd asking why I don't feature them. Gave me an idea, here is a recently upload WRX video. As of 1:16 PM EST The View count is 814 WRX and 1,912 for the EVO. We're going to have a race from now until this time tomorrow to see which one gets the most views, and tomorrow we will declare the winner as whomever has the most new NEW views since I made this post (above the numbers above).... So on your mark, get set go!

StreetFire.net at Petit Le Mans 2006

What a race, it's been a week since I've heard the "woosh" of the Audi R10 or the growl of the Corvettes doing battle with the Aston Martins, but I'm still excited about seeing that race. The StreetFire.net team had a great time covering the event and I promise you that we'll release video clips that we shot over the next few months. For now here is our photo gallery from the race along with some video submissions from you guys.

A special thanks goes out to "atye" for uploading an astonishing 14 videos. Great stuff I especially like the Video of the Aston and Vette having a tussel.

Some Laps Around Spa in Belgium

Did you know, that if you did a Google search on Belgium, that the #1 hit is the CIA "fact book" web site? Pretty wired huh? If you were to ask me what I thought the #1 hit should be for "Belgium" I would say... well to be honest I would say "Chocolate", but coming in a very very close second would be my favorite non-Monaco Grand Prix track, Spa. It is simply a gorgeous track with wonderful elevation changes and beautiful scenery. So check out this very well done video from the team at Car-Inside and see one of the world's great tracks. Thanks for the upload guys!

Anyhow for some reason the Flash Encoder didn't like this one, so sorry folks, Windows Media only on this one.

Bavarian Burn Out

Hello Friday, took a little bit of a break from posting to catch up on some business...and to recover from Petit Le Mans (hope to have that up eventually). Grabbed my morning coffee and found this lovely murder of a $1000 set of exotic car tires.

The e39 M5 has become one of my favorite cars of all time, and checking the used car prices they're now getting cheaper than a new Vette so finally, mere mortals can afford them. I think we'll see more and more Bavarian Hoodlum-isms as the years go by and especially if the ever reach "pull a fast one over on mom and dad and get one of these for highschool"-Cheap.....

TunerVlog Episode 2 - U.S. Drift at Greensboro, NC

After their first video covering a very trick S2000, TunerVlog returns with their second video all neatly wrapped in smoke and screaching tires. Great camera work, I love the "drifter's eye view" through the cones cam. Very nice perspective. FWIW I tried to talk these cats into coming down to Atlanta last weekend for the Petit Le Mans, and they said they had an event to cover, I didn't realize it was going to be this type of drifting. I mean the only thing I love more than watching a race is being in it myself, so I compleatly understand why they took a pass now :-)

PS For some reason the Flash version of this video has not come out of the oven... I mean encoder yet. So for now, Windows Media version only.. Which isn't so bad really. Little trick if you double click inside the screen of the widows Media version it should play in full screen.
