We're so used to seeing one car, shipped over from the US, going around the Nurburgring trying to beat the record, it's easy to forget that this is a racetrack that holds, well, races! And scary things happen when you're racing, like when your wheel blows up at 200kph!

Get all the action from inside the unfortunate Lamborghini Gallardo, looking forward and back, and from passing cars. The driver sighs with disappointment at the end. Yeah, that's really gotta suck.

Looks like Hovik 's been having a good time with his buddies over on the East Coast.

Nothing beats getting together with some friends in your respective rides and taking a drive, en masse, on some of your local roads.

If the turnout for this ride is anything to go by, it's a popular past time in NY! Various Vipers, Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, BMWs, a Quattroporte and, of course, the LP560-4 hit the road as the sun goes down and the engines rev up.

580HP Golf III Takes on Some Supercars

We have Stocki023 for this on-track action and while we could have done without the "Knight Rider on Speed" music, the driving is fairly impressive.

Any day you can take a 580hp Turbo Golf III out on the track and beat some supercars at their own game is a pretty good day.

The car has amazing straight line acceleration and our driver isn't afraid of some late braking, either. Nice job!

What's In The Barn?

If we hadn't seen the photos we probably wouldn't have believed this story. But we're so glad it's true!

A recently retired New Yorker and his wife decided to use their retirement money wisely and invest in some property. A house with a few acres in Portugal took their fancy and they went to have a look.

The property had been vacant for 15 years following the death of the owner and his wife. With no heirs to lay claim to the property, it was now being sold off by the State in order to pay off back taxes.

The house itself was appealing but a very large barn on the property was both ugly and welded shut. Gaining access to the barn was not including free as part of viewing the property and so a lot of people had passed on this steal of a deal.

The New York couple bought it for half of its worth and moved in. Pretty soon, the curiosity to know what lay behind the welded-shut steel doors overwhelmed them and, buying a generator and a couple of grinders, they cut through the welds...and entered Aladdin's cave!

The barn was full of vintage high performance cars! Cars included Lotus Elan FHC, Lotus Super Seven Series IV, Lotus Elan DHC, Porsche 356, Austin Healey Sprite MkII, Volvo PV 544,Giulietta Sprint, Giulia Sprint Speciale (SS), Nash Metropolitan, Alfa Giulietta, Lotus Europa, Lancia Flaminia Coupé, Peugeot 504 cabriolet & 404 cabriolet. Plus BMW V8, Formula racers, Chryslers, Mercedes and Austin A30.

The total value of this amazing collection? Over 35 million...and we're not even sure if that's in Dollars or Euros! Either way, all of the cars became property of the New York couple upon purchase of the house and grounds and you gotta know they're having a kick ass retirement now!

Tanner Foust: Top Gear USA Host

If you're any sort of car fan, you're a Top Gear fan and, like us, have been waiting to see if all the Top Gear USA talk is real. Well, turns out, it is.

And, along with Adam Carolla and some bloke we've barely heard of, drift racer and X Games Champ, Tanner Foust, is stepping in front of the camera and, we imagine, into the American shoes of Richard Hammond.

And, thanks to SpeedEngineBlock we can get an idea of what Tanner's like in front of the camera rather than behind the wheel.

Seems he's trying to move up in the world if this clip from SuperCars Exposed is anything to go by. Seriously, you can glide a car around a track, compete in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and you don't know how to wash a car? Dude, get a grip!

Turns out the rich guy who's interested in buying an exotic isn't too impressed with Tanner's sales technique but perhaps that's a good thing. Unlike other car shows that gloss over the details and never tell you if a car is crap, maybe this means the US version of our favorite show will continue the British tradition of not pulling any punches or genuflecting to advertisers. We can but hope.

Porsche Carrera GT compilation

BMWM1128 is a good friend to anyone who's a Porsche lover and, in particular, a Carrera GT lover.

VRAlexander's Porsche GT is a slick compilation of photos and video set to a great soundtrack that's embellished even further by the screaming engine and exhaust notes emanating from the CGT.

The best bit of the video has to be when the CGT roars through a Malibu, CA tunnel. That sound is worth losing your hearing for! Even better is the fact that our camera car appears to be CGT too! And a bright orange one at that.

Watch the cars slice through heavy LA freeway traffic, scream past surfers at the beach and wake up the neighbors in downtown Beverly Hills.

Can we have this car as our daily driver, please?

Evolution Motorsports - Porsche Compilation

Bullrun Episode #4

The Bullrunners continue their journey South, peeling out of Vineyard 49 on Long Island and headed for Atlantic City.

Unsurprisingly, Claus in the TechArt Cayenne arrives in 1st place, having caught the early ferry. Behind him, Bullrunners jostle for position, attempting to beat traffic, stay ahead of the law and head in the right direction. Yeah, the whole 'Head South' thing can get confusing.

Meanwhile, Team Texas' Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins have been tearing across the country and, at around 5am East Coast time, they make a triumphant phone call to Jay Riecke to call in their $50,000 bet. Their transcontinental time? A ridiculously-fast 31:59.

Morning in Atlantic City means bleary eyes and sore heads all round (boy, those blue rinse old ladies in A.C. sure know how to party...) as everyone heads for a checkpoint at Bullrun National Park. Alas, Team Lotus and Team CEC both fall prey to the cops and Team Riecke 2 just can't seem to find the right road.

A quick pit stop and the cavalcade heads for Staunton, VA. This small town ain't seen nothing like this before and all the locals pack the streets to welcome Bullrun to town. They're rewarded by Mardi Gras beads, thongs & t-shirts thrown from the top of a Hummer and a night of partying they're likely to remember for years to come.

Battle of the 997s on Head 2 Head

Episode 3 of TorqueTv's Head2Head puts up cars that both got their start in Zuffenhausen, Germany. It's a classic case of sibling rivalry as a 997 Porsche TWIN Turbo and a Porsche 997 GT3 come to Willow Springs to battle it out. Both cars have been tuned by famed GMG Racing in Orange County, California.

Carerra GT Breaks down in LA Traffic

StreetFire's own Jonathan catches a Carerra GT stuck on the side of the freeway in LA traffic. The slightly embarrassed driver apparently had some battery problems. I guess that's what happens when you buy a super-exotic simply to admire it in your garage.

VIDEO:Exotics Rally Crew Quick Run in NYC

Hey this one is nicely done by Dreamin' TV for Exotics Rally. Exotics Rally was founded in July, 2007, for auto enthusiasts who have similar interests in cars, travel, driving, and evening activities. The rallies have been held mainly in the Manhattan area but they are branching out into other parts of the US.

The video: It's an "Exotic" night run through Manhattan. The video offers great visuals. You'll see a couple of Murcielagos, a Gallardo Superleggra, Carrera GT, and GT3Rs. There is footage of the cars seriously smoking the other traffic, but mostly the Exotic owners are having a blast just driving. And who can get enough of that Lambo roar you hear about one minute thirty-four to one minute forty-five seconds into the clip? About five minutes in the vivid images start to become softer and mimic fantasy. Pretty cool! An exotic 'car' fantasy world! Then later on all that horsepower verberates off concrete as they go through tunnels. Toward the end of the video see some "Exotic-struck" fans trying to get some snapshots standing in front of one of the Murcielagos.

Video: Mercedes E55 vs Porsche 997 Turbo

Well being a fellow Mercedes E Class owner it was a good feeling to watch this E55 hang with the 997 Turbo. The 996... I mean 997 Turbo comes from the factory with 480HP and does a 0-60 in 3.7 seconds while the Merc comes equipped with 469HP and a 0-60 in about 4.3 seconds. There is something to be said about a sedan with a curb weight of around 4200 lbs that can run alongside a 997 Turbo. So when you're out looking for your next family car, consider the E55.

Top Crashes of 2007

As 2007 slowly winds down, we get all those sappy VH1 specials about what made 2007 so great. For us it was the great videos, and we all know the most popular category is our "Boom!" Category with all the crash footage. In our ongoing evil plot to steal market share for TV, we decided to do our own awards pick for the year. So here are our choices for the Top Crashes of 2007.

#5.) Porsche GT3 wrecks while running from the cops

Props because of the obvious expense of the car combined with bowling ball sack it takes to continuing to run when your GT3 is throwing the hood over the windscreen.

#4.) TV reporter catches it on video!

Two cars collide right behind a TV reporter as he talks about the dangerous intersection. Not a very good place to stand.

This one gets good 30 seconds in when some local residents decide to demonstrate for the camera.


#3.) Saudi style Drifting gone wrong

The Saudi's take drifting to an extreme form, but by raising the stakes they get some pretty spectacular crashes. This compilation dropped my jaw, doesn't get crazier than this.

#2.) Clint Bowyer upside down and on fire finishing 18th

Daytona 500 NASCAR race and Top Gear bagging on Americans,... why do they hate us so much? Because Jeremy Clarkson is too proud to admit how cool this is. Only in an America are race cars finishing upside down and on Fire ;-)

Best crashes of 2007 wouldn't be complete without one NASCAR crash, I mean seriously, thats why we all watch, right? This one takes honors as being especially cool, because Clint Bowyer finished the Daytona 500 upside down and on fire. The only way he could have been more manly is if his car was sponsored by Jack Daniels...wait a sec, it was.

This one is terrifying. I don't know if it's the rush of water flowing in, or the panic breathing from the driver, but you simply cannot watch this video without getting a cold chill down your spine.

Crashes are fun to watch when no one gets hurt, but that's not always the case. Please drive safe and keep the accidents online and off the streets in 2008!
