Turbo Cart vs. F360 Modena

Turbo Cart vs. F360 Modena
Thanks to CAR-MOVIES.de for this interesting match-up.

In the left corner we have the Ferrari 360 Modena. This beautiful red beast makes 400 horsepower but weighs over 3,000 lbs.

In the right corner we have a Turbo FormulaCart. This bare bones red beast makes 100 horsepower but weighs only 220 lbs.

In a sprint off the line, who's gonna win the race? It's a slap in the face for Tiffosi everywhere as the turbo cart smokes the Ferrari

9 Second EVO on Pump Gas!

9 Second Buschur EVO on Pump Gas!
What happens when David Buschur of Buschur Racing decides to build a Mitsubishi EVO that can be driven on the street? With a full interior and pump gas in the tank, the Buschur team build an EVO so sick that even WRX owners are jealous. David and his team created a monster that is capable of running 9.7's all day long on pump gas!

After draining the fuel tank, the team filled the tank with racing fuel and set out to destroy the track again.

Watch as the Buschur EVO destroys the track at 154.76 MPH in 9.11 seconds!

Can't get enough of this EVO? Check out this video.

Boosted Gallardo runs 10's

For this Gallardo owner, hitting 60 at 4 seconds and clearing 12’s on the 1/4 just wasn’t enough. Hell, if you have the money to afford a $180,000+ super car, were pretty sure you have enough money to give it a extra “umph.” Maybe a turbocharger or better yet a twin turbocharger?

Here is a quick 00:52-second video of a twin boosted Metallic Orange Lamborghini Gallardo. Supposedly EVSMotorsInc claims that this Gallardo is the fastest one in the world. 10.473....not too shabby huh?

Want to see Gallardo's big bro? Say hi to Murcielago.

Buschur DSM/Evo Shootout

Buschur DSM/Evo Shootout
Big Valley PR has been down at the drag strip to bring us all the action from the Buschur 16th DSM / Evo Shootout

Lots of Evos on show, including some definitely-not-stock Evo Xs. Plenty of 1/4 mile runs, with quite a few sub-10 seconders. Looks like a fun day at the strip...especially if you're holding the printout with the fastest time on it.

Over in France, see a near-miss on the track as some late braking nearly takes out the Evo that's ahead of the camera car.

Viper vs. Supra

Viper vs. Supra
In keeping with the Olympic spirit of the times, this vid from Drift3r pits USA vs. Japan. Yeah, yeah, not vs. China but you try finding a suitable opponent to American muscle...

Anyway...this drag race is Viper vs. Supra and it's a closely-fought sprint down the 1/4 mile (after the requisite tire smoking and psyching out of the other driver, of course).

We know who our money is on, not least because we get to read all the car's specs before the cars go head-to-head.

For USA vs. USA, watch a Lingenfelter Corvette vs. Hennessey Viper and see who comes out on top.

R35 GT-R: 11.72 at 116mph

R35 GT-R: 11.72 at 116mph

Don't Stop Me takes us to Wisconsin International Raceway to put the launch control in the 2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R to good use.

Running in a bone stock model, the car manages an 11.72 second 1/4 mile at 116mph. Hm, we're not sure he was really trying, are you? Why don't you hand us the keys and we'll give it a shot, OK?

This GT-R Down Under gets a horrible start, but does a similar time, so we're convinced we can do better! Keys, anyone?

1700HP Dodge Viper Twin Turbo

1700HP Dodge Viper Twin Turbo

solidsnake01 has shared a solid vid with us here.

How does a 1700hp Dodge Viper Twin Turbo sound? Pretty sweet, right? This is Jerry Kennedy's 2002 Heffner Twin Turbo GTS being driven at the track for the first time by Gary Javo.

Get on board as this beast prepares to hurtle down the drag strip. It can't even get to the start line without getting sideways!

As you might expect, Gary's times are insanely fast and the in-car rumble and roar from the engine and exhaust are fantastic.

Even with a slow start and missed gear, Gary's running a 8.75 1/4 mile. Er, did we mention this car is fast?

Tribute To Porsche 997 Techart Turbo

Tribute To Porsche 997 Techart Turbo

De4dSn4ke is sad, and after watching this vid, we can see why.

This moving tribute is to their Porsche 997 Techart Turbo, a stunning piece of German engineering that we can enjoy watching do countless drag runs.

Each launch is clean, each run gets ever faster, and you just have to wonder if all that adrenaline then spilled over onto public roads. Because, alas, things did not end well for our P 997 TT. We hope the driver made it out alive...the same cannot be said for the car.

Watch the Porsche 997 Techart Turbo 's final moments. R.I.P.

For a happier ending watch Jeremy Clarkson have a go in the Porsche 911

American Racing in Poland

American Racing in Poland

WASyl takes us to Poland so that we can appreciate some American muscle!

Who knew the General and his cohorts were so popular in this former Soviet Bloc country? Seems petrolheads the world over like nothing better than gathering together, setting up some cones for a makeshift drag strip and letting the games begin.

But while you might expect there to be a collection of Euro-badged cars in this video, these guys are all about horsepower that comes from the US of A. Ride along as they convoy on the freeway and watch them go head-to-head at the drag as the lights go to green and the action heats up.

To see how we do it in this country, check out Michigan Muscle III

Jessica Barton's 9 Second Supra Run

Jessica Barton's 9 Second Supra Run

Qb2productions has produced this sweet video for us to enjoy.

The little in-car teaser at the start gives you a good idea of what's in store. Jessica Barton's Supra is, well, off the hook! 1050rwhp, Motec M600 tuned by Darin Dichiara, custom Turbonetics 76mm turbo, all built by Titan Motorsports.

Get a good look at the car, see it getting tested on the dyno and watch Jessica do some seriously fast runs at the strip.

Best of all, experience the violence that is the inside of her car as the lights go green and she floors it: the action becomes a blur of vision and sound. Unfortunately, all that power doesn't make up for a slow launch, but we've no doubt Jessica will be back to share more high-speed runs with us.

If you're a Supra fan, you're gonna love this Supra Remix

NEW Texas Mile Record!

Texas Mile

A few years ago when Jay and Shannon decided to host the first Texas Mile near Goliad, TX, they expected a few dozen racing friends, locals and family would come out for speed runs on the 1 mile airstrip in the rural countryside. However, much to their amazement, the little home-grown event almost instantly exploded into an impressive display of speed from some of the fastest cars, bikes, and unique oddities from around the country. Jay and Shannon hold true to their home-grown idea of hosting an event that brings together old friends and new friends twice a year, all of which share in a passion for things on wheels with motors and engines. To them, a person that goes 122 mph at the end of The Texas Mile is just as important as the person that goes 324 mph.

It’s simple really; a great location, excellent organization and an incredibly open enthusiast community has brought all sorts of eager drivers- from Land Speed Record professionals to beginners- to try their skills and wheels at a standing 1 mile run.

This year saw several records fall. Most notably, Team DeWitt set the new Texas 1 mi speed record at 324.967 MPH. In the street car category, Boost Logic hit 229.67 MPH in their 1995 Supra Turbo. On the bike side, Charlie Anstaett hit 240.192MPH on his 2004 Hayabusa.”

Check out the Texas Mile page for the lastest videos upload for the event. You can also find them on our channels page.
