Top Gear Magazine shoot with NEW Challenger SRT8

Top Gear Magazine shoot with NEW Challenger SRT8

The new Dodge Challenger has taken the car show circuit by storm lately but what is it like on the road? Our friend Andrew Yeadon from CarPix invited the StreetFire video crew along for an exclusive shoot with Mopar's new muscle. This particular shoot was very special as it was the first time the new Hemi-powered Dodge was photographed and videotaped outside of Chrysler's own marketing. What's even cooler is that this particular shoot was for the famous Top Gear Magazine. Look for it at newsstands in the very near future. This is actually the second time Andrew has been assisted by StreetFire.

Check out the February 2008 issue of Top Gear Magazine for our last collaboration. On page 111 there is spread on the Callaway C16 Speedster.

This video has a little of everything in it. Watch as the Challenger cruises down the old El Toro airstrip in Southern California alongside its 1970 counterpart and learn some tricks of photographing automobiles from our friend Andrew Yeadon.

Also, make sure you check out CarPixArchive for some of the most amazing automobile photography you will ever see! Andrew has been kind enough to offer ALL STREETFIRE members a 30% discount on any purchases. Get your favorite ride on everything from posters to coffee mugs. Make sure you use the special code "StreetFire1X" (case-sensitive) to get the discount.

CARPIX DRIVES THE NEW PRODUCTION DODGE CHALLENGER

CARPIX DRIVES THE NEW PRODUCTION DODGE CHALLENGER

Brought to you by CarPixTV.

Here's the video scenario: Two black Challengers go for a drive at the LX Owner's Show in Irvine, California. One was released in the 70s (seeing this car back off the trailer will give you chill bumps) and we are on the verge of the release of the 2009 model. The guys also scan the Dodge product line and capture a Viper drifting and doing 360s. It's pretty sweet watching the Challengers cruising along side by side.

The guys from CarPixTV are the first ('third party Non-Chrysler personnel') to provide moving footage of the Dodge Challenger production car and to say they are excited to bring the action to you is an understatement. Look for their 'hard driving' video podcast April 11, 2008.

Official Photos of the 2008 Challenger SRT8

After delays and teasing us with the concept car from 2006 we can now see the final production version. They did a good job with the body and I like it, but the big upset is the interior. They failed to bring the concept interior to life and have given us a very disappointing mix of the current Charger and Avenger interior. The fact that the company is struggling is evident through the cutting of corners this way. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to the 6.1 liter V8 beast and though your viewpoint from inside may suck, anyone seeing you in it will look twice. This is a really hansom looking car with bite.
