$1 million ZR1 #0001

$1 million ZR1 #0001

GMnext100 is proud to share this video of the first ZR1 rolling off the line in Bowling Green, KY and being picked up by it's lucky owner.

Well, we say lucky, what we really mean is rich! Or perhaps that's now poor, given the dude shelled out $1 million to buy the rights to car number 00001 at the Barrett-Jackson car auction.

But hey, the money went to a good cause - the United Way - and Mr. Dave Ressler is evidently mighty pleased with his purchase. We're not sure the horsepower-dollar ratio is a very good one at that price but some guys just have to have #1. Good for you, Dave!

Corvette ZR1 Build

GMnext100 you ROCK for sharing this video with us!

Ever wondered how The General's most powerful production car ever built is, well, built? Ponder no more. This time-lapse video takes you down onto the production line to get a step-by-step look at how a ZR1 gets put together.

We love how much pride the workers on the line take in their work and the fact that Corvette owners and buyers visit the line on a daily basis to see how their cars are
made.

Check out the size of that motor being hoisted and the way the body is lowered onto the chassis and drivetrain. Very cool indeed.

638 HP, 205 mph top speed, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, all for $103,300.
Yeah, we want one.
