StreetFire studios help birth a new company!

Chris, Jeremy and I worked hard over the past few years to get StreetFire where it is today, and I can't convey how much fun it is working at a company you helped create. This past weekend we helped (in a small part) give that same experience to a group of 45 people attending Start Up Weekend LA. The premise is simple, you invite a whole bunch of people into a high octane space for a weekend, lock them up, and see what comes out on Monday. This weekend's result? A new company called SocialMixr. What is it? SocialMixr is one of the new breed of social game networks you see cropping up on Facebook. Their first game, is called "Frenemies" and allows you to choose an issue and then get your friends to either join you or not on the topic.

This weekend, StreetFire.net is hosting StartUpWeekend LA! A novel concept, StartUpWeekend is a community, an experience, a party, that goes all weekend, and at the end, a fully functioning business is created. Over 50 people are here in the office right now, organizing into teams of developers, designers, legal, marketing, anything you can think of to conceive, design, create and launch a business by Monday.
