Saab Automotive AB, a subsidiary of GM, lives up to their US slogan "Born from Jets" in this well put together educational video focusing on aerodynamics. The Saab 9-X BioHybrid concept car is the model for the video.
Interior and exterior designers describe their visions. Exterior: A teardrop shape with a sharp vertical rear-end and a spoiler that increases aerodynamics up to 10%. They also use cameras instead of rear-view mirrors to decrease drag. Cool! The interior has a new design as well with many controls located on the steering wheel and instruments curving around into the door.
The 9-X BioHybrid probably won't be in showrooms until at least 2011. She'll offer a 200 hp 1.4L turbocharged 4 cylinder flexible fuel engine: mix of gasoline or E85 ethanol.
By the way, the 9-X which won best concept car at the Geneva Auto Show will be presented at the 2008 New York International Auto Show, March 21 -30.
