Some Disclaimers,
Yes, a rear mount turbo is not ideal, it has greater lag and makes less power than a more integrated unit, however you can't argue with the lower price, and how it bypasses modifications to the exhaust. In many ways a remote mount turbo is a very innovative solution to the growing complexity of exhaust systems and emission controls. However, the one wierd side affect for a rear mount turbo is hearing the Turbo at the rear of the car. I chose to highlight this video as you can hear the sound change as the cameraman walks around the Vette to the rear. Based on the description I believe this may be an
STS turbo design, I think we'll see more of these kits as people become more accustom to the idea of a rear mount turbo. In the meantime, the C6 corvette is already a screamer, I can't imagine how fast it must be with this turbo system installed, waiting anxiously for a drag run!
EDIT: Just saw found some more videos. Turbo spools damn fast! Also here is the profile of the car (with updated paint and wheels) on the Fidanza.com web site.[Video:
