Autoblog.
Autoblog recently uploaded a video featuring Ford Design Director, Peter Horbury. Learning insider design scoops from one of America’s top automakers is quite a windfall and we at StreetFire hope you enjoy this four and one half minute video and all of
AutoBlog's cutting edge uploads.
This clip featuring 34 year design veteran, (widely known for his winning design turn around at Volvo) Peter Horbury, shows some Volvo redesign work at 1:23 into the video. He explains how the Volvo design team worked to make 'the functional safe Volvo' less boxy without relinquishing the strong safety selling point. His vision for Ford includes NO half hearted rebadging efforts: the Ford Taurus and Ford Five Hundred come to mind! Horbury talks Lincolns at 2:21 into the clip and you get a visual of the MKZ Lincoln. Refined sexy!
Next Horbury explains how Ford designers use the same platform for many vehicles but work to create a whole different 'top hat look' for each individual vehicle. Redesign of Ford product interiors is discussed at 3:33. And speaking of Fords here is another
